European election candidate vows to fight Irish fishing industry’s case

A good meeting today on a windswept pier in Killybegs with Independent Ireland’s European Parliament candidate for Midlands / North-West Ciaran Mullooly.


Despite not coming from a coastal background himself, former RTÉ correspondent Ciaran is making it his business to get a good grasp of the problems in the Irish fishing industry and how the EU must be challenged on several key issues, and in particular the imbalance of quotas in Irish waters where up to 85% of the fish quota is allocated to non-Irish EU fishing vessels.
